    Women's Colleges and Universities

Students learn and thrive in different environments. That's why one of the many higher education options in the United States is women's colleges and universities. In the United States, women's colleges were first established in the early 1800's and they have been providing innovative and challenging educational opportunities for women in this country ever since. While their numbers have dwindled (many institutions went co-ed in the 1970's), the more than 50 women's colleges still operating today continue to offer a unique learning environment dedicated to helping students realize their potential.

Women's colleges and universities may be public or private, independent or faith-affiliated, four-year or two-year, and they offer many of the same programs as co-ed universities and colleges. However, they also offer distinctive women-centered curricula and learning methods as well as the resources to help women pursue--and master!--subjects in which they have been traditionally underrepresented, such as law, math and computer science.

So if you're looking for an educational institution dedicated to helping you succeed, don't forget to investigate what's offered at women's colleges and universities with computer science programs.
